Location: Bright galaxy, no direct sunlight
Your 'Elaine' loves very bright light to develop its unique shimmer. Direct midday sun is a no-go, however, as this leads to unsightly burns. A place in a bright north-facing window or slightly away from a south/west-facing window is perfect.
Watering: The art of the right timing
Alocasia doesn't like wet feet! That's the most important rule. Only water again when the top 3-4 cm of soil has dried out well. Use the finger method to check this. Always ensure that excess water can drain out of the pot to prevent root rot.
